The HHS/ED Children's Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization which is sponsored by the Departments of Education and Health & Human Services, and governed by a Board of Directors in the District of Columbia. Board members serve two-year terms, and new board members are elected, and terms for current members are renewed, at the annual meeting in October. If you would like to join the Board, please contact us to submit an application by September 15, 2017.
In addition to the Board, there is a Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). The PAC was developed to involve families in our children’s educational program. The PAC coordinates activities and organize resources to help children, parents and the center’s staff make the strong connection between home and the center. If you are interested in joining the PAC, or for more information about the PAC, please contact Sarah Oberlander.
The Board of Directors of the Center has meetings each month, alternating between in-person meetings and teleconferences. If you are interested in attending, contact the board secretary for more information. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
